Kickboxing Fans Eagerly Await K-1 MAX Event with Exciting Title and Non-Title Bouts

The upcoming K-1 MAX event, scheduled for March 20, is generating buzz among kickboxing enthusiasts, as it will feature a highly anticipated return of the renowned K-1 MAX tournament along with several championship and non-title fights.

The main highlight of the event will be the clash between three-time K-1 Super Bantamweight (-55 KG) title challenger Masashi Kumura and Luca Cecchetti, widely regarded as Europe’s best fighter below 56 kilograms. Kumura, who has long been considered one of the top competitors in the lower weight classes, is determined to prove he is the undisputed best in his division.

“I definitely want to grab the 55 KG belt. It’s only a matter if it comes next or later down the line,” Kumura stated. “Taito Gunji is racking up wins, but he hasn’t exactly impressed me, so I’d also like to go up to Featherweight and grab the Featherweight belt as well.”

On the other hand, Cecchetti, who was last seen picking up a victory against Huo Xiaolong at ONE Friday Fights 31, will be looking to seize the opportunity to position himself for a shot at the coveted title and become the new king of the division.

In addition to the main event, the K-1 MAX event will also feature:

  • Antonia Prifti’s first Atomweight title defense against the surging SAHO
  • A Cruiserweight clash between Liu Ce and champion Sina Karimian
  • The return of former two-weight K-1 champion, Koya Urabe, who will face off against Hayato Suzuki after a three-year hiatus

Kickboxing enthusiasts can expect an electrifying evening of action-packed fights as the K-1 MAX event promises to deliver thrilling battles and the potential for new champions to emerge.
