Kickboxing Fans Eagerly Await Shiro vs. Tamaru Rematch on September 8

Bantamweight champion Shiro Matsumoto is set to defend his RISE title against the talented Toki Tamaru in a highly anticipated rematch on September 8. The two strikers previously met earlier this year, but their bout was called off as a no-contest due to an accidental clash of heads.

At just 22 years old, Tamaru has already cemented his status as a top-tier kickboxer, holding the RISE Super Flyweight and Flyweight titles. In 2023, the young prodigy won five bouts, including notable victories over Kazuki Osaki and Kumandoi, earning him ‘Fighter of the Year’ awards from both RISE and Combat Press.

Shiro, the reigning Bantamweight king, brings a formidable Muay Thai background to the table. The 16-year-old made his professional debut on the Bangkok Stadium circuit, eventually capturing the RISE Bantamweight world title with a win over True4U Muay Thai champion Diesellek Wor.Wanchai. Despite suffering a loss in the 2023 -54 kg tournament, Shiro bounced back with a first-round knockout win against Boonlong and a recent victory over ISKA champion Christian Manzo.

“In their previous encounter, the southpaw Tamaru was landing kicks to pressure Shiro, while the champion attempted to parry punches and counter with a cross. The action was just heating up when the bout was unfortunately stopped due to the inadvertent headbutt.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting the rematch, as both fighters look to showcase their skills and claim victory in this thrilling Bantamweight title clash.
