Kickboxing Fans Rejoice: Rodtang Revving Up for Blockbuster Fights in June and September

Bangkok, Thailand – In a thrilling announcement, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed that the promotion’s iconic Muay Thai champion, Rodtang, is set to return to the kickboxing arena this June at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. While the specific opponent has not yet been disclosed, Sityodtong assured that the matchup is already agreed upon and will be officially announced in the coming weeks.

Rodtang’s punishing striking skills and unrelenting fighting style have captivated audiences worldwide, and fans will be eager to see the Thai superstar back in action. The Impact Arena in Bangkok, a hallowed ground for kickboxing enthusiasts, will serve as the stage for Rodtang’s June showdown, promising an electric atmosphere and a spectacle worthy of the champion’s talents.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Sityodtong also revealed that ONE Championship is working to book Rodtang in another high-profile bout in September, this time against former K-1 champion Takeru. However, the location of this potential clash has yet to be confirmed, though Sityodtong hinted at the possibility of additional events in Japan next year.

“Rodtang is currently in peak form, with his hands and overall conditioning at 100%. The stage is set for the Thai icon to continue his reign and captivate audiences with his unparalleled skills.”

The announcement comes as a surprise, as Takeru has been nursing a fractured knee and was initially scheduled to face Rodtang in February at ONE 165 in Tokyo. That bout was ultimately upgraded to a title challenge against Flyweight Kickboxing champion Superlek.

Kickboxing enthusiasts will undoubtedly be thrilled by the prospect of seeing Rodtang and Takeru, two of the sport’s biggest stars, collide in the near future. As Sityodtong stated, Rodtang is currently in peak form, with his hands and overall conditioning at 100%.
