RISE ELDORADO 2024: Clash of Champions in the Kickboxing World
Kickboxing Fans Eagerly Await Clash of Champions at RISE ELDORADO 2024
On February 2nd, the renowned combat sports organizations K-1 and RISE jointly announced an exhilarating series of ten fights, pitting their top fighters against each other. The highly anticipated RISE ELDORADO 2024 event will feature five of these much-anticipated matchups on March 17th.
The highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the highly anticipated showdown between reigning K-1 champion Yuki Yoza and RISE titleholder Kan Nakamura. Following his spectacular knockout victory in December, Nakamura immediately called out Yoza, who has now accepted the challenge to face him on his home turf.
Yoza, the current K-1 champion, seized the crown from his bitter rival Taio Asahisa in March 2023 and has maintained his winning streak with a decision victory over Aaron Clarke and a knockout triumph over Aikmongkol. However, the champion took a six-month break from competition and openly expressed dissatisfaction with the new K-1 management, a situation that has since been resolved.
On the other hand, Nakamura claimed the RISE title from Naoki Tanaka in April of the previous year. Despite a no-contest setback due to a low blow, he delivered a stunning knockout against Ahmed Akoudad, a contender for the knockout of the year.
Exciting Undercards
Also featured on the RISE ELDORADO 2024 card, Akihiro Kaneko will look to avenge his defeat at the Match 2022 against former RISE champion Masahiko Suzuki. After defending his K-1 title against Kompetch and scoring a knockout win over Emre Karaca, Kaneko outfought Masashi Kumura in a trilogy bout that earned him Beyond Kickboxing’s 2023 Fight of the Year award. However, Suzuki’s career trajectory appears to be on the decline, having suffered losses in 3 of his last 4 fights, including the loss of his RISE title to Koki Osaki in his most recent outing.
“Fans of the sport are eagerly anticipating the thrilling matchups that will unfold at RISE ELDORADO 2024, as the champions from both K-1 and RISE organizations collide in pursuit of glory and supremacy in the kickboxing world.”
