Koki Osaki’s First Title Defense at RISE 181: Kickboxing Showdown
Kickboxing Champ Koki Osaki Readies for First Title Defense at RISE 181
Eight months after dethroning long-reigning bantamweight king Masahiko Suzuki, Koki Osaki is set to make his inaugural title defense at RISE 181 on August 31. The main event will see Osaki, the new RISE bantamweight champion, square off against challenger Ryunosuke Omori.
Osaki’s path to the top was paved with solid victories over previously unbeaten Ryoga Terayama and veteran Yugo Kato. His title-clinching win over Yodbuadaeng 3rdplaceGym was viewed as a showcase fight for the new champion, so this first defense should mark a return to his previous level of competition.

Omori, meanwhile, makes his return to the ring following a 15-month hiatus. He made an immediate impact, delivering a sensational first-round spinning backfist knockout of the undefeated Koyata Yamada. Now, Omori faces the biggest test of his young career as he takes on the champion Osaki, likely as a slight underdog.
The stacked RISE 181 event will also feature several up-and-coming prospects. Tenshi Matsumoto squares off against JIN, while undefeated Mei Miyamoto faces veteran Melty Kira.
