Kickboxing Sensation Koki Osaki Retains RISE Bantamweight Title in Dominant Fashion
At the RISE 181 event held at the iconic Korakuen Hall, rising Japanese kickboxing star Koki Osaki successfully defended his RISE Bantamweight (-55 kg) title with an impressive unanimous decision victory over challenger Ryunosuke Omori.
Osaki, known for his relentless pressure and dynamic striking, once again showcased his dominance inside the ring. The champion seamlessly transitioned between unloading a barrage of punches after the clinch and unleashing powerful knees to keep Omori at bay. Despite the challenger’s sharp jab, he struggled to find an answer to Osaki’s constant forward movement and effective close-range offense.
The event also featured other notable performances, including Tenshi Matsumoto’s consecutive first-round knockout win and Seido’s split decision triumph over Kotaro Tenno.
In the aftermath of his title defense, Osaki emphasized that he is no longer content with just being a challenger. He expressed a desire to compete globally, particularly in ONE Championship, where he and his brother believe they can achieve victories that have eluded other Japanese fighters.
“We’d like to arrange something within the year. He can do both kickboxing and Muay Thai, but we’d like to send him out under kickboxing rules.” – Takashi Ito, RISE representative
Osaki’s dominant performance and ambitious plans for international expansion have ignited excitement among kickboxing enthusiasts, who eagerly await his next chapter in the global combat sports arena.
