Exciting K-1 WORLD MAX 2024 Weigh-ins & Matchups in Tokyo
Smooth Weigh-ins Set the Stage for Thrilling K-1 WORLD MAX 2024 in Tokyo
The highly anticipated K-1 WORLD MAX 2024 event, set to take place at the National Yoyogi Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo on Sunday, July 7, 2024, kicked off with a seamless weigh-in session. All 40 fighters successfully made weight, clearing the way for 20 bouts, 17 of which will be featured on the main card.
The most eagerly awaited bout in the Grand Prix pits Buakaw Banchamek, who tipped the scales at 69.45 kg, against GLORY Kickboxing’s No. 2 ranked competitor, Stoyan Koprivlenskiy, who weighed in at 69.85 kg.
“The only notable incident occurred during the weigh-in for the Super Featherweight clash between Brazil’s Guilherme Monteiro and Japan’s Yokoyama Tomoya. Monteiro’s late arrival in Japan due to travel complications led to an agreement to adjust the weight limit for the bout to 61 kg instead of the original 60 kg.”
Other notable fights include the opening round of the 55 kg tournament, with Japan’s Akihiro Kaneko, Masashi Kumura, Rui Okubo, and Cambodia’s Kan Menghong, as well as China’s Zhao Zhendong and Greece’s Angelos Martinos, representing the international field.
The co-main event will feature a showdown between Yoza Yuki and former K-1 champion Kongnapa Weerasakreck.
The preliminary card will kick off at 1:00 PM ET tomorrow and can be purchased as a pay-per-view on TrillerTV. Fans are encouraged to visit k-1.co.jp for more information on the event.
