Kickboxing Sensation Arian Sadikovic Joins GLORY Roster
Arian Sadikovic, the 29-year-old German kickboxer of Bosnian descent, has signed with the renowned GLORY Kickboxing promotion. This move comes after Sadikovic’s last fight with ONE Championship in June 2021, where he emerged victorious against former GLORY champion Nieky Holzken.
According to GLORY’s announcement, Sadikovic will make his promotional debut at GLORY 95, scheduled to take place on September 21st in Zagreb, Croatia. However, his opponent is yet to be revealed.
Sadikovic cites the lack of regular fights as a key reason for his decision not to renew his contract with ONE Championship. During his two-year tenure with the Asian promotion, he only competed three times. Additionally, Sadikovic was promised a title rematch against champion Regian Eersel after his close loss, but that fight never materialized, leaving him dissatisfied.
Sadikovic is not the first fighter to express concerns over inactivity while signed with ONE Championship. Earlier this year, Iman Barlow announced her retirement due to a lack of fight opportunities, while other kickboxing stars like Chingiz Allazov and Anisa Meksen have also shared their frustrations with the promotion.
Arian Sadikovic’s journey with GLORY is not entirely new, as he previously competed for the organization in 2019. After a split-decision loss in his debut against Mike Lemaire on GLORY 64, Sadikovic secured a victory against fellow German Dani Traore at GLORY 69. However, the COVID-19 pandemic and GLORY’s subsequent financial struggles led to the end of Sadikovic’s initial run with the promotion.
Following the pandemic, Sadikovic continued his career with ONE Championship, where he earned a quick title shot after a decisive debut win against Mustapha Haida. Although he lost the title bout against Regian Eersel in a close decision, Sadikovic’s impressive performance against Nieky Holzken a year later earned him the No. 8 spot on the Beyond Kickboxing Welterweight rankings.
