Kickboxing Fans Eagerly Await GLORY 92’s Light Heavyweight Grand Prix in Rotterdam

Last Friday, the highly anticipated matchups for the upcoming GLORY 92 Light Heavyweight Grand Prix were revealed at the weigh-in show. This one-night tournament will feature the top-ranked light heavyweights competing for the coveted title, making it one of the most anticipated GLORY events this year.

GLORY took a new approach to the drawing ceremony, aiming to address fan concerns from the previous Heavyweight Grand Prix. In the new format, all eight fighters randomly selected a number, with the top-ranked fighter picking first. The fighter who drew number one will be placed in the first quarter-final and have the opportunity to challenge an opponent, who can either accept or reject the fight.

The draw resulted in a thrilling lineup:

  • Reigning champion Tarik Khbabez (50-10-1, 28 KO) challenged Pascal Toure (20-6, 7 KO)
  • Stefan Latescu (17-2, 8 KO) called out Donegi Abena (27-10, 7 KO)
  • Sergej Maslobojev (36-6, 21 KO) will face Bogdan Stoica (58-13, 40 KO)
  • Ibrahim El Bouni (41-9-1, 22 KO) will take on Bahram Rajabzadeh (67-2, 59 KO)

The GLORY 92 event in Rotterdam will also feature a co-main event between Murat Aygun (32-3, 8 KO) and Ionut Iancu (28-9, 10 KO), as well as middleweight and welterweight bouts. The light heavyweight grand prix reserve fight will see Mohamed Amine (29-7, 16 KO) against debutant Cem Caceres (15-1, 12 KO).

“Kickboxing enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the GLORY 92 event on June 8th, which promises to deliver an electrifying Light Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament and an action-packed fight card.”
